曹圖強(qiáng)：Good question, but before I answer your question, like to clarify a few points with respect to your statement about network security and capacity of storage. IP network security is in good shape, although still keeps innovating and developing. Fibre Channel network security is still at early stage, Cisco MDS implemented FCIP encryption and some FC-SP authentication. We will also add feature such as FC encrytion in the near future. Storage capacity has always been growing and so has storage subsystem. From SCSI to FC, cost effective SATA, and now iSCSI, new geration products are coming.

Back to your question, I think you meant about remote access, remote backup & recovery, and remote data replication. Transport layer could be SDH, SONET, or DWDM and even IP routed network. Right now, Cisco is the only company has FCIP product that is integrated into the switch as you pointed out as “易插易用”. If you convert FC traffic to FCIP, then it can go through SDH, SONET and DWDM as G/E traffic. There is not such product or linecard for SDH, SONET, or DWWM today. Stay tuned!
